Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium funding helps us provide additional support and opportunities for eligible pupils, ensuring they can thrive both academically and socially.
At Braunstone Community Primary School, this funding is used to:
- Provide targeted support to help pupils make strong progress in their learning.
- Enhance pupils’ confidence, wellbeing and social development.
- Provide resources and interventions that remove barriers to learning.
- Support access to enrichment opportunities and other wider experiences.
Our aim is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed, achieve their potential and fully participate in all aspects of school life.
Families who may be eligible are encouraged to register, even if their child receives Universal Infant Free School Meals, as this additional funding directly benefits pupils and the opportunities we can provide.

Who can apply for Pupil Premium?
Your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding if you receive one of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (with an annual household income of £16,190 or less, and not in receipt of Working Tax Credit)
- Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying)
Funding rates for 2026-2027:
- Pupils eligible for Free School Meals (or who have been in the past 6 years) £1550
- Pupils who are looked after by the local authority (LAC) £2690
- Pupils who are previously looked after by the local authority (PLAC) £2690
